Metal trash cans and other "STOMP" like percussion needed for three

Me and my two hommies just got a gig in Telluride for a stomp influenced percussion session for a few days at the ski and snowboard festival. We have tons of percussion toys but never knew a metal trash can would cost so much. in which case we need your help. we just want to borrow, if interested, buy. None the less the event is the 13 & 14 of December. Any can, buckets or anything you feel is fun to hit with a drum stick in a rhythmic motion. Let us know, any help is needed. please be quick so we can have some time to rehearse.

"Official" CO. Decompression

Just to clarify for my friends, the "official" Colorado Decompression event will be held at Cafe' Netherworld. There is a $7.00 door charge, a cash bar, and you can buy food, there might be a food special for us. Playa wear is encouraged. 21+only 8pm-2am. December 8th.

This means our "official" community event is at a bar that we could all meet at for free any other time. If we want to eat or drink we have to buy it from the bar, that means no bringing homemade treats to share with your friends. There will be unspecified musical entertainment and "playa"art though. They got that going for them, which is nice.
My question is what do all of you want to do on December 8th? I'm assuming that we can at least have a house party that sounds better than this "official" event.

Sorry for the cross-post! We are taking a preliminary head count to see who is interested in attending Boom Fest in 2008. We are looking into the possibility of chartering a flight, depending on numbers. Our group of monkeys is located in Colorado. Realizing that it is far too early for most to commit to anything in August 2008, we just wanted a rough estimate of the wish list. It may be worth the trip to Colorado for other folks to reduce overall travel costs. Please pass along the info to anyone you know, who might be interested. i'm a student in portland, OR, and i'm coming to denver for an internship in enviro science. i've been putting out my feelers to find 2nd and 3rd degrees of separation, to be directed to some good space and people in denver for the summer. i've got some leads, but am hoping any of you can also help me out. i'll be looking for a place to stay, close to public transportation to get downtown, and it would be so so good to know i can find family when i get there. can you give me any direction to community-friendly people and art lovers who might have a space for a joyful girl to stay for a few months, or good things to get plugged into once i'm there? i'll be coming in the end of may, staying til probably late august.

MANifesting HELP!! Need Help finding a home, a car, a job....

This year is said to be one of magic but also of making yourdreams into reality. IT has been many years since I have made this transistion to manifesting what I want. My sea of dreams is overfilled and spilling into my reality almost too fast now, wanting to live.

I am looking and dreaming and visualizing these things that I feel i need right now to account for the saftey and security values of my roots, or so to feel grounded..

If anyone can give me insight on any of these thing i would greatly appreciate it..

A PLACE TO LIVE:
I am currently looking for a housiing situation that may involve a few 1 or 2 other people in the metro denver area who are looking for a roomate,etc. These people would be very cleanly and interested in all aspects of holistic health and healing, ideally aspiring raw foodists or people interested in the topic. They would be responsoble individuals as well as fun yet leaving a calm joyful atmosphere in the house...Need I say cleanly again! The rent would be between $300-500. Ie: I would also be willing to chores and cleaning for cheaper to free rent.

A JOB OR AN INCOME SOURCE:
I know you all are creative about your income. Please tell me some tricks of the trade. I want a pretty lowkey flexible job that pays over $10/hr. Has any one ever doen that envelope stuffing? Haha.. Something in the evening would be perferable that does not go too late into the night.. Ideas anyone? I can do pretty much anything.

A VEHICLE: Need a car!!! Denver really needs a community car system. Has anyone ever got one from an auction that could help me figure out how to do it? Or know of anyone who has one. I am thinking cheap $1500 at the most.

DENTIST & DOCTOR:
My teeth need a lot of work! HOw the heck does Colorado work with low income people with no insurance who need a large amount of dental work done...? Any ideas?

John the Dentist is at Syn Lounge on fridays. He's "THE" RESIDENT!!! You got it EvERY friday! I just got home and holy poopy...I couldn't stop dancing. I haven't heard stuff like that since my NYC days. Word to the wise, he got a bit epic around 1:30ish. Totally worth the $7 cover. Check it out. 15th and Champa. The place is like your favorite dive, bring th e baby powder!

Dance Church is a spiritual dance jam (eclectic music) every Sunday morning from 9:30-11am at the D Note in Olde Town Arvada (7519 Grandview Ave.) Wear comfortable clothes and leave your shoes and inhibitions at the door. For those who want to sweat their prayers on Sunday mornings - DJ's the minister, music's the sermon.

In 1994 Ghreg got his first taste of the emerging sounds of Trance and within two years began composing his own material in his small bedroom studio. Over the next few years his distinctive sound, heavily influenced by his passion for Industrial Music from the 1980s, IDM from the early 90s and Dark Ambient, evolved and found its way into parties and festivals throughout the United States and the World. Festivals he has performed at include the Ypy Poty Festival on the Ubatamarium Beach in Brazil in February 2002, the Phoenix Festival in Portland Oregon in July 2002, and the AsOne Festival in Eugene Oregon in the summer of 2003.

Over the years Ghreg On Earth, also known as Phosphene (a studio side project for experimental trancescapes and ambient modes), has had numerous releases on labels such as USTA (Israel), TimeCode (South Africa), Soular Records (USA), & Spectral Concepts (USA). Upcoming releases are scheduled for InnerSound/Ipsyde (Italy), Spontaneous Aerobics (Germany) & Mistress Of Evil (USA). He has also held countless spots at parties with artists such as Xenomorph, MOS, Olli Wisdom, Hux Flux and Anti, with his unique sound finding it?s way into the sets of Kris Kylven, Aleph (Phyx), Xenomorph, Penta and Goa Gil, to name a few.

Mubali is a psychedelic trance dj/producer living a couple hours outside San Francisco, California.
He has been a dj for several years and his styles have varied during the course of the past few years... He mainly spins Psychedelic Trance and occasionally Drum & Bass/ Jungle.
He will have his first three releases coming up on the Mistress of Evil label, on Illumination Records and on the second compilation from Trishula Records "Mushy Mystery". Later in 2005 he will release his debut album with Trishula Records. He was a violist for 7 years in his adolescence and has been a fan of all types of music, instrumental and non... He is a big fan of all types of psychedelic music, as well as funk, jazz, rock, and heavy metal.... He has found that in electronic dance music, a lot of the structure is similar to classical music. He also has been researching a lot of classical music to use as structural inspiration for his own pieces...

Fractal Cowboys ? Mistress of Evil

Donning their Electromagnetic Trans linguistic Helmets, our heroes wait with white knuckles and sweaty brows. It is 1am and the maddening thuds dig into their chakras as they gyrate uncontrollably. The two-step is a complicated dance, especially when two feet are involved! All the cowboys' cousins and all the cowboys' sheeps have arrived at the barnyard hoedown. They are wondering if the Tractor Cowboys will be playing Country music, or Western. But alas, our heroes know well that their time has come.

It is now 1:15am and time for our 'boys to take the stage. The cows stop mooing. The bubbas stop having sex with the sheep. The oil wells stop pumping. All cowboy hats are tipped to the two in the spotlight, behind the chicken wire.

Truth be told, they had been playing both Country AND Western until just recently. Then one night while tipping cows, they saw a Bigfoot. They followed it across the field and into the woods before they noticed a large, saucer-shaped craft hovering just 6 feet above their heads. A ghost flutters near a corpse which has re-animated. As several vampires and a black dragon close in on our heroes, a sudden, brilliant flash of light blinds the Tractor Cowboys.

As their vision returns, they see Jesus in a hand basket streaking toward them.

"Jesus Christ!" the fractured cowboys scream.

He just smiles and says, "I'm goin' to Hell, you want to join me?"

Their knuckles turn white and their brows begin to sweat.

"Just kidding!"

And with one swish of his hand, Jesus turned those dirty monsters into noxious shrubs.

The frazzled cowpokes fell to their knees and said, "Thank you, Jesus!"

Then Jesus turned into Captain Zorbak of Alpha Centauri Prime (Galaktik Federation) and said unto them:

"Take these strange sounds and arrange them in a harmonious manner. Add a throbbing beat so people can dance to it. Change your name from the Tractor Cowboys to the Fractal Cowboys. And for galaxy's sake, change your pants! You look like you've seen a ghost or something!"

And this is how the Fractal Cowboys were born!

Nasu Dyami

Hi all,

Many of you already know - Nasu drowned Sat morning while bodysurfing at Ocean Beach in San Francisco. Below is the latest update from Phoenix (his girlfriend) on memorial info. Feel free to contact me directly for any additonal info. I will post here once plans are more certain.

I know that many of you are waiting for info on
memorials, etc. I will tell you what I know.

I know that his body is to be released in the next 24
hours and then he will go to a mortuary. A few of us
will see him one last time. I think this is going to
be only me and his parents. There will be no formal
showing if I can help it. His body will then be set
aflame and that's that.

Any memorial services that will be held will be at our
house in Outer Sunset (or on the beach nearby). I
know that he would prefer to have everything low key.
I have no dates yet planned, but I'm sure there will
be a few.

So if you are traveling this way, know that there are
many places for you to stay. Please come whenever, as
there are people traveling in from out of town as late
as next month. Even though there is no "formal
service" I would love for people to come out.

Please pass this letter on to other lists and to
Nasu's friends not on this list. I have only posted
here.

If anyone knows of, or can help me find a reputable
mortuary in San Francisco (that's a little less
christian) I really need to find one by tonight.
Please help if you can. That is one of the main
things I need right now.

I am so thankful of your support. Without it I don't
know what condition I'd be in. At least now I can
focus on breathing and trying to walk.

Memorial for Nasu

For those of you who would like to attend a memorial for Nasu, the first will be tomorrow (there will be another this weekend - no set date/time yet).

1 pm til dark
At suset we'll walk to the beach & spin fire

To take place at Phoenix & Nasu's home
1471 45th Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94122 (off of Judah).

There is a big garden in the backyard that Phoenix would like to make into an altar for him. Bring drums, flutes, and your fire gear and we'll walk to Ocean Beach to watch sun sets and spin
for his spirit.

Food will be provided.

Goa and psy trance is big over here, and the summer season has just kicked off, with some rather spectacular multiple-day festivals appearing on the international calendar.

End of November is Earthcore 10, featuring Simon Posford (aka Hallucinogen) and Infected Mushroom (see www.earthcore.com.au).

New Year's Eve is set to be a super blast, with Tribeadelic Records' annual "Gathering" playing host to Silicon Sound, Sesto Sento, Visual Paradox, Fractal Glider and a swag more (see www.tribeadelic.com).

End of January, is the well-respected Rainbow Serpent Festival, put on in part by Green Ant Records. Alas, GA tend to keep their cards close to their chests, but rumour has it that Deedrah and Tristan are two of the internationals to appear behind the 35 kW Wall Of Sound.

Perhaps we'll see you here? :)
